Many thanks for this facility. The major news of recent months is the location in the National Archives in Kew of the archives of David Nelson. See the article in the Times of 30th July 2011. Some of the records have been available in TNA for some years but the remainder have become available in TNA in April this year . This is a major find -the records have been sought by FEPOW historians for years. May well mean substantial amount of revision to Volume 1?

From David Tett

I haven't yet been to TNA to view what is revealed in these files. A good indication can be found on www.researchingfepowhistory.org.uk - read Keith Andrew's description and also the Times article. I wonder if it includes for example a key to the codes used in forwarding mail to various camps - X3, x5 x7 (see page 163 of Vol 1) or do they divulge the Camp numbers applied to various camps introduced in 1945? See page 225 of Vol 1.

Anybody know?
